What immediate thoughts come to mind when watching this clip?
The children show they are boared with their face expression and use cards to tell that they want to use technology
during class instead of the old fashioned ways.

Think about your time as a student at school...How are you best engaged by your teacher?
When we use smartboards and borrow the laptops from the library to do work and to play with.

What could we be doing as a school to continue to engage you as a 21st century learner?
In my opinion, I think that as 21st century learners we should be able to bring in whatever we think will
help with our own education including technology.

Choose a technology that you can use very effectively.
iPod Touch

Describe the Technology.
An iPod Touch is a thin rectangular shaped thing that has a touch screen to control. You can upload games,
have internet acess and mainly play music. If you can get the latest you can also video and take pictures.
There is only one little button down the bottom that you press and you exit the game, song or internet.

What is it called?
iPod Touch

What does it allow you to do?
It allows you to upload apps, internet acess and to play the music that you want it to play. It is also an effective tool for communication.

How do you mostly use it?
I mostly use my iPod Touch to go onto Skype to chat or see my friends. Sometimes I play games
that just get addictive. When I first got it my sister and I would go onto the internet and look for silly web sights on youtube like annoying orange.

Could it be useful for your learning in the regular classroom? If so how...?
Yes. It can be used for research, videoing, photo, recording each other, playing music, podcasts, reading online books or listening to online books.

What was the message Diana Kidd was trying to give throughout the story?
The message was it is good to be friends with everyone no matter what culture you come from. It is not
nice to be racis and no one deserves it.

Lily starts to tell us a bit about her Dad and his attitude towards the Rileys who have just movee in next
door. Write one sentence about Lily's Dad and his feelings towards the Rileys.

Dad's actions are mean and selfish towards the Riley's. Dad is scared that the Riley's are different and
that they are a bit strange and he won't allow Lily and Jake to be friends with Danny and Ella.
